24g Volume – Formulated for Cerakote H-Series Clears

Elevate your firearm finishes with Caveman LLC’s Smoke Coat™ Thermochromic Powder, now available for custom applications. This powder transitions from black to clear at 130°F (54°C), revealing underlying designs or patterns as the temperature rises.

• Volume: 24g powder (designed to mix with 4 oz of Cerakote H-Series Clear Coat)

• Activation Temperature: 130°F (54°C)

• Color Change: Black (cool) ➝ Clear (hot)

• Max Operating Temp: 450°F (232°C)

• Compatibility: Specifically formulated for Cerakote H-Series Clears (e.g., H-300, H-301)

Application Notes:

• Mixing Ratio: 6g of powder per 1 fl oz of Cerakote H-Series Clear Coat

• Catalyst Ratio: Adjust Cerakote clear-to-catalyst ratio to achieve desired gloss:

  • 12:1 for higher gloss

  • 14:1 for standard gloss

  • 18:1 or higher for matte finishes

• Application: Apply in 3 coats—1 tack coat, 1 medium coat, and 1 final coat for even coverage

• Flash Time: Allow 20–30 minutes between coats to prevent solvent pop

• Curing: Bake at 250°F (121°C) for 2 hours as per Cerakote H-Series guidelines

Note: Uneven application may result in inconsistent translucency at operating temperatures.

This product contains small parts and powdered materials. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

⚠ TEMPERATURE LIMITATION
Smoke Coat™ is designed to operate up to 450°F (232°C). Prolonged exposure beyond this limit may degrade its thermochromic properties and compromise performance.
